Spooky Popcorn Cell Phone Burst

Some friends showed me this yesterday, it's circulating among them on the Facebook. That's why I suppose that you've seen it already, but here it is for ones who haven't. And please, can someone explain it to me? At first I thought it's some kind of trick, but then I found on You Tube people all over the world doing it so I thought obviously it's real. I'll definitely try it, but I have to admit that it scares me. Can't stop thinking what's happening with our brains when it does such stuff to popcorns...

    that's pretty cool

    i'm guessing it has something to do with infared signals or something like that. its wavelength is similar to that of a microwave (wave) and therefore acts in a similar manner on the popcorn.

    or maybe the waves mutated the kernels so much that they popped
    =P

    Snopes.com determined this to be a hoax. Apparently these were advertisements for a blue tooth company. The other hoaxes contained cooking eggs with cell phones.
